George Herbert Walker Bush[a] (June 12, 1924 – November 30, 2018) was an American politician, diplomat,[2] and businessman who served as the 41st president of the United States from 1989 to 1993. A member of the Republican Party, he also served as the 43rd vice president from 1981 to 1989 under Ronald Reagan, and in various other federal positions prior to that.
